The Journey
That little Rugrat was only 11 when she started playing volleyball. She was one of only two sixth graders to make the team, and she’s been playing ever since. She’s gone to camp every summer and kept showing up season after season after season. Talk about committed.
For the past three years, she’s played all over the court: setter, lib, and even outside hitter as a five-foot girly 😂 She’s been wherever her team needed her.
Now she’s made her first club team, and she gets to choose a specialty and really work on her craft.
This is a big step for Kai. She’ll get more hands-on training and a player profile so college recruiters can start paying attention. Club doesn’t guarantee a scholarship, but it gives her more chances to be seen as she works toward playing in college. This isn’t just about one season. It’s about helping her build toward the future she wants.
And whew, club volleyball is expensive. The full season costs $5,500, and Kai needs at least $1,000 by December 1 so she can play. My goal is to have the whole season paid for by January 1. This is the cheapest it’ll ever be, so we’re asking our family and friends to help us get Kai started.
